Chronicles of Liberia, The Legend of Sara
A downloadable game for Windows
Hey everyone! Ever since I played Ultima Online as a teen, I’ve dreamed of creating my own massive MMORPG. As a huge fan of A Link to the Past, Ultima Online, Runescape, and Skyrim, I’ve always been drawn to the immersive worlds of these games. The pixel art style has a special place in my heart because, to me, games should look like games.
After years of attempting to build my own game engine in JavaScript (with many frustrating failures), I finally discovered Godot. In just three months, I managed to create my first prototype: Ninja Quest. This game marks a new milestone on my journey toward developing the ultimate 2D top-down Zelda/Skyrim-like MMORPG.
A huge thanks to the Open Game Art community for their incredible contributions. As someone who's not an artist, I relied on the amazing LPC collection for 95% of the game’s assets. It’s my hope to one day create a game that incorporates all of the art labeled "LPC" in the collection. The title of this game is a nod to the Liberated Pixel Cup and their mascot, Sara.
